We operate a fleet of over 900 vehicles plated to up to 44 tonnes.
Vehicles are replaced on a three-year cycle or less, to take advantage of improvements
in vehicle technology, efficiency, safety and driver comfort and to ensure that
we create and maintain the right image on the road at all times.
The average age of the fleet currently is 12 months and vehicles are predominantly EURO 5 engine generation
for the lowest CO2 emissions on the road.
As an owner of trucks, we focus on whole of life costs. The key marques in our fleet are DAF, MAN, Mercedes Benz, Scania and Volvo. Vehicles can be supplied in Maritime Transport or in customer livery.
All vehicles are fitted with cellular in-cab phones and many with the latest tracking devices to locate and plan trucks and monitor vehicle performance. Security is paramount and vehicles are specified with alarms and/or immobilisers. Every driver is issued with a container lock, which is fitted to the container doors as an additional deterrent.
Our state-of-the-art fleet of 950 trailers is branded in Company livery to complement our modern vehicle fleet. Hill Hire and TIP, our trailer partners, supply and maintain our trailer fleet.
The trailer fleet includes 40’ sliding skeletal (capable of carrying 1 x 20’, 2 x 20’, 1 x 40’ containers), draw-bar (capable of carrying 1 x 20’ and 2 x 20’ containers) and splitter trailers (capable of carrying 1 x 20’, 2 x 20’ and 1 x 40’ containers) up to 30 tonnes GLW. The trailers are manufactured in Ireland and in Holland are specified to the highest standard to meet the rigorous performance requirements of our sector.
Our distribution trailer fleet includes 13.6m tautliners, specified to carry 26 GKN pallets up to 28 tonnes GLW. A number of our trailers are fitted with retainer bars to accommodate roll cages. Because the requirements for distribution vary from customer to customer, we can design or tailor trailers to match the exact business requirements, whilst retaining flexibility for shared user operations.
