Maritime Transport staff had to make sure they didnt go overboard with the Halloween celebrations on the weekend as they
were in work bright and early to fit over 1,000 poppies to their fleet of vehicles across the UK.
The fitting of the poppies was no mean feat as the installation had to happen simultaneously over all of their 24 sites across
the UK. Maritime called on volunteers from within the business to give up some of their weekend in order to fit the poppies
to the front grills of the trucks which we are sure you will agree, look fantastic.
Maritime selected the British Legion as their chosen charity for 2015/16 as their causes are close to a number of their employees
hearts. Employing a number of ex-servicemen and women, the Company says the feedback has been overwhelming.
“The Poppy Appeal means so much to so many so we are proud to have been able to contribute in some way to the cause.”
"We have had hundreds of responses to thank Maritime for their support," said John Williams, Managing Director, Maritime
Group. "The Poppy Appeal means so much to so many so we are proud to have been able to contribute in some way to the
cause."
Maritime hope to continue their fundraising efforts over the next year for the charity and have already committed to repeating
this years sponsorship in 2016.
