Maritime Transport Limited (Maritime) is delighted to
announce the signing of a long-term contract with La Doria Heinz Ltd (LDH).
The deal will see Maritime run a dedicated day and night
operation six days a week, supporting the UK’s largest retailer to supermarkets
of canned tomato products, fish, fruit, vegetables and dried pasta.
This contract marks the first major business win for Maritime’s
distribution arm in Suffolk, which is where the Company’s Head Office is
located.
“This contract with LDH represents yet another step forward
for us in 2016,” said Dave Boomer, Maritime’s Managing Director – Distribution.
“With East Anglia always being a great area of strength for us within our
container operations we were keen to develop a complimentary distribution
operation and are delighted LDH chose us to support their business.”
Paul Nicholas, Logistics Director at LDH, said of the partnership:
“We were impressed with the infrastructure that Maritime could offer us; our
long-term association with Felixstowe is one that Maritime reinforces, and
their network of depots at key points up and down the country is one that we
look forward to utilising moving forwards.”
This news comes on the back of Maritime’s purchase of 100
new 4-metre curtain-sider trailers taking their curtain-sided fleet to nearly
400 trailers in total.
